藏傳佛教歷史概述
藏傳佛教的初期傳播始於吐蕃時期。在公元6世紀時，藏地首次接觸佛教是在第28代贊普拉托托日年贊時期，當時天降佛教法器與經典，雖然當時無人能解其義，但被視為佛教傳入藏地的重要標誌。
藏傳佛教的真正發展是在「祖孫三法王」時期達到高峰：
1. 松贊干布（第33代贊普）：引入佛教，建造大小昭寺，創制文字，制定法規
2. 赤松德贊（第38代贊普）：大力弘揚佛教，建造桑耶寺，培育譯經人才
3. 赤祖德贊（第41代贊普）：進一步推崇佛教，改進藏文，推行「七戶養僧制」
